BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe has announced that ASTRO Gaming will be the official audio partner of TEKKEN World Tour 2019.
The partnership will include ASTRO Gaming increasing the TEKKEN World Tour’s prize pool
by matching the original purse of $100,000 (£78,000).
“The FGC is among the most passionate, purely playing for the love of the game. However, while passion fuels competition, it doesn’t fuel your bank account,” said a spokesperson for ASTRO Gaming.
“We recognise this struggle, so this year ASTRO is officially boosting the TEKKEN World Tour prize pool with an extra $100,000 and a custom payout structure. Competitors will now be fighting for their piece of $200,000 and a chance to be the 2019 TEKKEN World Champion!”
ASTRO will provide A40 TR Headsets and MixAmp Pro TR’s hardware at all TEKKEN Master Events. Along with stage support, all of the European & North American Master Events will feature MixAmp Pro TR’s at every pool station and free-to-borrow headsets in the ASTRO Booth. There will also be an A40 + MixAmp Pro TR set up on every stage & pool station for the 2019 World Finals.
ASTRO also announced the “ASTRO Path To TEKKEN Masters, powered by Beyond Entertainment”. The online tournament series allows players to compete online to win a myriad of prizes, including $500 (£394) cash, ASTRO hardware prize packs, as well as travel accommodations and tournament entry support to compete at official TEKKEN World Tour Master events.
ASTRO Gaming’s partnership support of the World Tour increases the total tournament prize from $185,000 (£145,000) to $285,000 (£224,000) with $200,000 (£157,000) up for grabs at the TEKKEN World Finals.
The TEKKEN World Tour 2019 kicked off on April 20th, at MIXUP in Lyon. Since then it has stopped in Seattle, Sweden, South Korea, Australia and the USA. Additional stops included the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Australia and more. To conclude the 19 highest ranked players will then be invited to the TEKKEN World Tour finals in Bangkok, Thailand.
Esports Insider says: It’s impressive to see ASTRO gaming not only contributing but doubling the final prize pool. With the world tour hitting a wide variety of countries, we do not doubt that the final will be packed full of talent.
