One of the veteran organizers in the competitive landscape of CS: GO have announced the first round of matches and group stage of the finale of ECS season 7. The competition will be hosted in the London at the SSE Arena from 6th to 9th June.

The competition will host an attractive prize pool of $500,000 and it will be contested by eight teams. For the first phase of the tournament, the teams have been split in two groups where they contest for the trophy in double-elimination format. The first round of matches will be played in the best of one. While the elimination and the deciding matches will be held in the best of three.

Astralis are the current favourites to win the trophy. Since the likes of ENCE, Na’VI, FaZe and Liquid are not competing in the tournament. However, they will have to watch out for teams like MIBR, Vitality, NiP and NRG who are capable of beating the best teams on their day. Astalis has been not the most convincing side in the past months so claiming the trophy will be their top priority.

One of the renowned analysts, Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill have openly made a bold statement that Astralis’ era has come to an end. He is confident that this will be another competition where we will see Astralis getting beaten by far better teams.

We believe that he is making these bold statements, since Vitality has been in impressive form lately. The French side has reigned supreme in the cs_summit 4, where they have beaten the likes of ENCE and Liquid to claim the title. If they remain consistent in their style of play, then we are likely to see some interesting games in the tournament.

Byali terminates his contract with VP

In other news, Paweł “byali” Bieliński has terminated his contract with Virtus.Pro. The 25-year old singed the termination agreement on Monday.

Byali has been competing for VP since 2014. During this partnership with the team, he has been part of the golden 5 that was once the most successful team in CS: GO. Some of the achievements of the team includes winning the  ELEAGUE’s inaugural season and EMS One Katowice 2014 Major. Yet, it’s been a while, since we saw VP lifting a trophy. The golden 5 have split up and the Polish side’s successful era is long gone. Only byali and Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski have been competing for the current side.

Byali controversially left the side after it had a disappointing end to the FACEIT Major, London. But returned with a new and younger squad. The new roster failed to make a mark and Byali finally quit in the first week of May.

At the time of this writing, we are really not sure where will will see byali in the future. He might very well quite the pro CS: GP scene, if he fails to find a top tier side. He is currently competing for a tier 4 side, MIKSTURA in the open qualifiers of Europe Minor.
