MSI or Mid-Season Invitational have set a new world record as Invictus Gaming completely destroyed SK Telecom T1 in just less than 16 minutes.
After winning the Worlds 2018 back in november, Invictus Gaming were considered as one of the favorites team in Mid-Season Invitational 2019.
Match up between the considered to be the best player in the worlds, Faker and Rookie in SKT T1 and been waiting by many fans throughout the LoL community.
The two teams finally met in the group stage in Vietnam for their first best of one series clash in the double round robin format at MSI 2019.
Hopes were quickly cut short for SKT fans, however, as a few early kills snowballed into a dominant start from Invictus Gaming which saw them closing out the best of one in just under 16 minutes.
The performance from Invictus smashed the record for the fastest professional International League of Legends match ever while setting a new record of 15 minutes and 57 seconds.
This came as a shock to many fans as SK Telecom T1 were seen by many as a top team coming into this tournament and given their history as being the most successful organization in League of Legends history with three World Championship wins.
SK Telecom T1 are still not out of the tournament despite losing both games to Invictus Gaming and are expected to qualify for the knockout stage while currently sat at third place in the group with a 2-2 record.
They will have to bounce back quickly, however, as their next two matches consists of G2 Esports and Team Liquid, who have both proven that they are capable of potentially making a run at this event. – Daniel Cleary
